Dr. Danuta A. Nitecki

As Drexel University’s Dean of Libraries and a Professor in its College of Computing and Informatics since 2010, Dr. Danuta A. Nitecki has been transforming the library to be responsive to changes in technologies, information-seeking behaviors, scholarly communications, and pedagogy. Previously, she held library administrative positions at Yale and three state flagship universities in Maryland, Illinois, and Tennessee. She has taught, published, presented, and consulted extensively on topics such as assessment, library spaces, research methods, document delivery, management of library services, and information technology applications. An active member of various organizations, she serves on advisory boards with library consortia, publishers/information vendors, and associations serving professionals in university planning, and currently is Vice-Chair /incoming Chair of the Board of Visitors for the School of Communications and Information, University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Dr. Nitecki holds a PhD [University of Maryland] and MS [Drexel University] in library and information science, and MS [University of Tennessee] in Communications.
